The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Edward Desmond (Des) Butt can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: It is with great sadness that I hear of Des' passing. When Heather contacted me last weekend to inform me of his situation and that she and Shanna were frequently at the hospital in support, I had no idea how quickly it would happen. Regretfully I hadn't seen him in over 11 years. My memories of him and Ceanne go back a long way, and as I referred to them as my second mom and dad, at her passing, since having spent so much time in their company. This loss leaves a void so I can only imagine how his family feels. I always enjoyed his sense of humour - through tears and smiles I write. It is with these memories that I have always considered him a part of my family and so this hits home across miles and time. I extend my deepest condolences and prayers during this difficult time to all of the Butts, Shanna, Ian, Derek, Gloria, Glenda and wife Linda. Rest in Peace, Des.

I was always delighted to see him coming into the barn for a chat and I'm so glad we had the opportunity to visit when we trailered the ponies last year. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and I wish you strength and peace during this sad and difficult time.
